West Lafayette Community School District - The School Psychologist will join the WLCSC in committing to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The district is seeking a compassionate and skilled individual to join our multidisciplinary team and make a lasting impact on the lives of our students and families. The School Psychologist will provide psychological services to support students’ learning and emotional well-being. This includes assessment, consultation, counseling, intervention, and collaboration with educators, administrators, and families to promote positive educational outcomes.
- General Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments to identify learning, behavioral, and emotional needs
- Administer, score, and interpret standardized assessments in areas such as intelligence, achievement, adaptive behavior, and social-emotional functioning
- Prepare detailed written reports summarizing findings and providing actionable recommendations for instruction and intervention
- Participate as a key member of the Evaluation and IEP teams to determine eligibility for special education services
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans (BIPs).
- Support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) initiatives
- Facilitate special education eligibility meetings and provide professional recommendations
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations
- Special Education Compliance & Monitoring:
- Track evaluations and re-evaluations to ensure compliance with federal and state timelines
- Assist the Director of Special Education with preparation for state monitoring visits, due process cases, and complaint investigations
- Monitor eligibility, LRE, and other compliance indicators for IDOE
- Possesses the knowledge of the full-continuum of services required as options for student’s educational placement and least restrictive best practices
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and records in compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and district/state policies
- Support for the Director of Special Education:
- Comply with all WLCSC requirements for school-based Medicaid claiming
- Review evaluation reports of all move-in students to ensure compliance with Article 7
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as a resource to school personnel and parents regarding child development, learning differences, and behavioral supports
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt instructional strategies and classroom environments to meet student needs
- Participate in school-based teams such as MTSS, 504, PBIS, and crisis response teams
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with parents and guardians to ensure shared understanding of student needs and progress
- Partner with school leaders in the district and building implementation of MTSS to implement proactive supports to prevent over identification of diverse learners in special education
- Other Duties:
- Maintain confidentiality of student records at all times
- Participate in special education leadership team meetings and assist with departmental initiatives
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Special Education to advance district goals

- Education, Training, and Experience Required:
- Master’s or Specialist Degree (Ed.S. or Ph.D./Psy.D.) in School Psychology or related field
- Valid Indiana School Psychologist certification/license
- Knowledge of psychological assessment tools, data analysis, and intervention strategies
- Displays excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
- Demonstrated ability to support staff in understanding second language acquisition, language development, and best practices for teaching culturally and linguistically diverse students
- Willingness to remain current in field of special education and psychological evaluations
- In-depth knowledge of IDEA, Article 7, and evaluation processes
- Displays dependability and punctuality
- Possesses creative thinking and solution-focused mindset to identify and deliver services across multiple settings and environments
- Possesses the ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Possesses strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- Position works indoors in a typical school setting
- May work near others, often within a few feet

PAY RATE: Based upon the WLCSC Master Teacher Contract (see attachment)

SCHEDULE: 183 Days + 10 Additional Days; Follows school calendar
