Requirements
Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential Functions)
- Adhering to MN State Statutes, code of ethics, insurance requirements, and Northstar’s policy and procedures.
- Maintain resident/client records in accordance with Northstar’s policy requirements.
- Complete continuing education courses in current treatment concepts and methods as required by the State of Minnesota to maintain professional license.
- Attend in-house training, all scheduled Northstar/Bridges staff meetings, and consultations.
- Hold a caseload of clients, providing all components of a psychotherapeutic episode of care from DA through termination.
- Coordinate care with all providers that are on the client's care team.
- Build and maintain emergency procedures for after hour crises.
- Audit Clinical and Billing documentation
- Track Departmental revenue
- Ensure billability of metro clients.
- Supervision of clinical trainees.
- Facilitate and maintain Metro area co occurring compliance .
- Other duties as assigned.
- Fulfill the mental health component of the co-occurring licensure requirements, which includes completing the diagnostic assessment (DA) within 10 days.
- Maintain a minimum of 20 direct clinical contact hours per week, or averaging at least 30% of available time as direct client contact if part time. This will include a combination of 1:1 or group psychotherapy, as well as facilitating co-occurring substance use groups.
- Complete all substance use documentation within 24 hours, and mental health documentation within 72 hours of rendering the service.
- Connect with mental health practitioners weekly for training and support.
- Attend weekly multidisciplinary clinical staffing meetings.
Required Skills and Experience: (Minimum requirements in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge skills and abilities)
- Must be eligible to be credentialed with insurers
- Licensed and fully credentialed as an LP, LICSW, LPCC or LMFT
- Demonstrate competent use of DSM-V and evidence based approaches
- CPR Certification or attain within 30 days of hire (in-house training available).
- Must have two years of freedom from chemical use problems.
- Must pass drug screen
- Must pass a State of Minnesota Background Check.
- Must possess a current Minnesota Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to use Microsoft office programs and other computer skills.
Additional Skills and Experience: (Preferred or helpful)
- Familiar with Procentive.
- Training or certification in evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ACT, SFBT, DBT, EMDR, Brain Spotting, etc.
- Strong motivational interviewing skills
- Work independently, think critically, and cultivate a solution-focused mindset
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to embrace change
- Communicate effectively and collaborate well with other members of the care team.
