Spring Meadow Nursery, Inc. is growing and looking to bring on additional help within our Construction/Maintenance department.
Our facilities involve residential, commercial, industrial and control wiring. We are looking for an individual with the drive to grow with us. This is a great opportunity to learn all aspects of the trade in an instructional environment. The position also involves daily preventative maintenance responsibilities.
The Entry Level Electrical Apprentice will work under close supervision to perform entry-level duties as assigned. These duties will include the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical systems. A qualified candidate will be able to use basic hand tools, utilize measurement and laser level equipment, possess adequate math skills, perform basic conduit installations, participate in wiring installations, receive and follow directions, and be willing to learn.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Be on the job on time every day and ready to work.
- Follow all PPE and safety and protocols.
- Daily production contribution. A first-year apprentice will contribute to installation beyond being support.
- Respectful and thoughtful communication with peers and other leadership.
- Proactive learning and advancement of skills.
- Participate in new installations, repairs/alterations to existing installations, and preventative maintenance.
- Be a part of on-call team for after-hours emergencies.
- Ensure critical systems are operational and in a ready state.
- Perform manually taxing tasks including digging ditches. Lifting heavy equipment and maintaining strenuous positions.
- Install mechanical and electrical systems in a professional and workmanlike manner.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Technical courses or experience in some of the following: Electrical theory, generators, gas fusion, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical and welding.
- Basic hand tool and power tool experience
- Safety training related to stored energy (electrical/gas/air/mechanical)
- Proficient mathematical ability
- Ability to work from elevated platforms, ladders, or structures.
- Good time management skills
- Cognitive thinking
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
- Work off a ladder or raised platform.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.
Performance Requirements:
