We have an immediate need for a qualified PRN Implant/Pain Management Registered Nurse at a growing clinic in Denver, CO. The role involves complementing and enhancing the quality of service to our patients by providing information and direction in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
The Implant/Pain Management RN is involved in strategic planning and continuous quality improvement by providing planning and development of patient care with implantable devices, intrathecal pain pumps and neurostimulation. Ensures and maintains patient care delivery in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and department objectives. Assure adequate exchange of information and communication among teams. While this role is intended to serve at a particular CPIhealth location, it is within the company’s right to assign staff to other CPIhealth locations when there are staffing shortages.
Essential Functions
- Medical treatment coordination for prospective and/or current intrathecal pump patients, including triaging patient calls and referrals.
- Performs intrathecal pump refills (under provider supervision).
- Recovers and monitors post-op pump/implant patients (under provider supervision).
- Performs post-operative staple/suture removal.
- Assist and recover intrathecal pump trials under provider supervision.
- Communicate with ancillary departments via EMR and collaborate with device representatives to ensure quality care to patients.
- Works with providers to order intrathecal pump medication prescriptions.
- Pre-op and post-op education and collaboration of patients and family members.
- Assist providers in tracking and completing required documentation for patient procedures, including insurance authorizations, when applicable.
- Ability to chart in an accurate and complete manner via the EMR system.
- Provides customers with courteous, friendly and efficient service.
- Maintains patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
- Assists with mentoring or training additional staff related to the specific job duties.
- Attends required staff, educational and training meetings and has strict adherence to company and facility protocols.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of CPIhealth.

Requirements
- Associates of Science in Nursing Degree or higher.
- Procedural experience, preferred.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills and ability to critically think in high pressure situations.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Cooperative and professional behavior toward patients, peers, providers, management and visitors.
- Ability to independently make decisions and solve problems within scope of licensure; ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
- Positively contributes to the department and company, including committee participation, if applicable.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
Licenses & Certifications
- Current state registration as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certified or obtain certification within three months of hire.
- ACLS certified or obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
Pay Rate: $40 - $50/hr DOE
Status: PRN, as needed
Shifts: Variable, Monday - Friday. No weekends, no evenings, no holidays.
