Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG) is seeking a Business Associate who will perform all the duties necessary to ensure quality customer service for policy and certificate holders, brokers and other stakeholders. The basis for achieving quality customer service is consistency in maintaining departmental performance standards for quality and service in the administration of policy issue, implementation, quality review, group and member enrollments and any related activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Processing member and beneficiary enrollments, as well as dependent terminations
- Processing member-level changes to include name and address changes, reinstatements, class and tier changes and any other changes that may be necessary to accurately reflect enrollment
- Facilitating member terminations and transitions of those members to Cobra coverage
- Creating policy documents, both initial and final documents
- Implementing new groups of all levels of complexity
- Implementing renewals of existing groups of all levels of complexity
- Implementing group-level changes, including, but not limited to, broker-of-record changes, adding new classes, updating group contact information, etc.
- Auditing of group implementations (new and renewal) and of group-level changes
- Generating client invoices and correcting any issues resulting from implementation or changes
- Completion of assigned reporting on regular basis to correct errors and variances and identify potential issues, including reporting for our Cobra vendor
- Quality review of Associate 1 & Associate 2 tasks
- Quality review of Accident rate sheets to facilitate efficient implementation of groups
- Correction of errors, discovered both internally and interdepartmentally, on both group-level and member-level in order to facilitate operations
- Other tasks, special assignments and projects, as needed
- Maintaining data accuracy equal to or greater than 97% in all tasks; and,
- Completion of 97% of all tasks and assignments within departmental timing standards.
- Communicating effectively with team members and other departments to ensure efficiency and effective workflow
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent, bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is preferred,
- 1 - 3 years of experience in a business-related field is required
- Experience in the insurance industry is preferred
- Experience in data input is preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong PC skills and knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Outlook and Excel
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good organization and prioritization skills
- Ability to multitask and has attention to detail
- Ability to work overtime hours if required to perform the job
