About the Department

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services including Information Technology project delivery, maintenance, and support. This position is with the Agency Services Executive Office of DTMB and serves as the Agency Services Chief Administrative Officer, supporting all Agency Services supports teams.

We are seeking an individual who understands the value of public service and aims to help address the needs of our citizens. We require an excellent communicator who can establish and maintain effective relationships with team members. Additionally, we need someone who can manage multiple tasks, resolve issues, and provide excellent customer service and teamwork.

This role involves working closely with Agency Services and DTMB leadership to shape and implement departmental policies, strategic plans, and directives, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) plays a crucial role in bridging communication between the Agency Services Director and other senior leaders on key operational matters.

Key responsibilities include coordinating daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual activities to meet policy and performance goals, overseeing workforce and HR tasks, managing budget and financial activities, directing audit processes, and handling facilities and space coordination for Agency Services. SDA 17 - Position Description

Position Location/Remote Office: The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out-of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.

Position Duties

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience
Two years of experience as a professional manager or program/staff specialist, or equivalent experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements
