The Department of Emergency Medicine at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, through Brown Health Medical Group, serves as the academic emergency medicine practice plan for the Brown University medical community.
The department provides emergency care and faculty staffing across four major hospitals in Rhode Island: Rhode Island Hospital, the region’s only Level I Trauma Center; Hasbro Children’s Hospital, the state’s only children’s specialty hospital; The Miriam Hospital, a leading community teaching hospital; and Newport Hospital, a community Magnet Hospital.
Collectively, our physicians and advanced practice providers treat more than 250,000 patients each year across these four sites, serving communities throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.
