General Description/Primary Purpose:

The School of Nursing is seeking a 12-month, non-tenure earning, Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing. Position responsibilities will include a 4/4 teaching load.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach in areas of expertise for the graduate program (e.g. Family Practice which may include Adult Health, Pediatrics, & Psych Mental Health)

  • Supervise students in clinical areas

  • Participation in School committees

  • Maintain active Clinical Practice as RN/APRN

  • Perform nursing and community service in areas of expertise

 

Supervisor: This position will report to the Interim Director, Dr. Debra Harrison.

 

Working Hours: Varies

 

Supervision Exercised: This is not a supervisory role.

 

Required Licensure: Licensure as an advanced practice registered Nurse in Florida or eligible for Florida License

 

Anticipated Start Date: The position is expected to begin on August 3, 2026.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing (DNP; Ph.D. or Ed.D. preferred)

  • Family Practice specialty required to teach a variety of courses in the DNP/FNP program.

  • Five years of recent advanced practice clinical experience

  • Experience teaching BSN and graduate students

 

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:

  • Medical simulation experience

  • Evidence of professional contributions to the nursing profession

  • Curriculum development

  • Specialty certifications
