Job Description
Applies expert knowledge of the management of the enterprise electronic mail process to support Exchange infrastructure. The tasks associated with this support may include, but are not limited to, installing, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring the operation of the LANs, scheduling installations and upgrades in line with users needs, evaluating new products for hardware, software and mobile mail equipment. Ensures internal controls are adhered to in relation to compliance requirements, audit procedures, and security and by following industry best practices and Exchange mail and security policies. Monitors and tunes the email environments to achieve optimum performance. Develops and maintains standard operating procedures and documentation, provides project leadership for the planning and execution of major mail projects, and provides guidance and advice to developers and users concerning the mail environment capabilities, software, hardware, and procedures. Ensures data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. Defines disaster recovery requirements and plans and delivers a disaster recovery solution for the mail environments. Trains users on email operations and procedures. Coordinates with business units, the project management office (PMO), outside entities and IT staff to confirm compliance and risk mitigation has been met. Serves as second level support by identifying, evaluating, and troubleshooting non-routine events and incidents associated with the mail environment. Responds to telephone calls and email requests for the mail environment management processes. Safeguards physical access to Exchange restricted data, processes and services.

Job Qualifications
Five years of experience in monitoring servers, replication, mail routing, creates user accounts maintaining security levels on databases and monitoring messaging infrastructure and server usage.
Or
Bachelor's degree in information technology and three years of experience in monitoring servers, replication, mail routing, creates user accounts maintaining security levels on databases and monitoring messaging infrastructure and server usage.

Major Duties
Monitors / configures and manages mail flow through gateways, filters and queues.
Monitors / manages mail system infrastructure (hardware & software).
Monitors / manages mail system peripheral systems (Blackberry Enterprise Server, Fax, Archive, etc.)
Serves as expert level support for all email and mail system issues and tasks. Tests, schedules and implements hardware and software upgrades, fixes and patches.
Researches, evaluates and recommends new technologies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Challenges
24x7 work environment supporting Exchange operations, which requires either shift work, on call, and/or after hours project work and may include holidays, and weekends
