We have a vacancy for a Reporting Analyst to join our U.S. team based in Austin, TX. This role will support the development of our middle and back office reporting functions and facilitate broader product and development and customer experience initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring experience with financial settlements, energy markets, and/or credit risk management along with their strong understanding of reporting processes and data analytics.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing market data from multiple sources including power markets, operational telemetry, commodity markets, and energy trading platforms.
- Generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports via automation related to commercial activity, financial and managerial performance, asset reporting, and operational performance.
- Developing, maintaining, and enhancing automated reporting tools and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintaining ongoing shadow settlement and P&L reports for current ERCOT operations, with additional RTO/ISO markets likely to be added in the future.
- Monitoring and documenting market changes affecting settlement processes, and implementing necessary updates to relevant files.
- Supporting departmental initiatives by contributing to project requirements, tracking the status of ongoing projects, and performing UAT.
- Providing subject matter expertise in cross functional projects, performing ad hoc analysis and reporting.
Preferred skills and experience:
- Energy experience: wholesale energy markets (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, etc.), or development/management of renewable generation projects or energy infrastructure.
- 3+ years using SQL and writing advanced queries, with an understanding of adjacent concepts such as data warehousing, ETL processes, data visualization, and the software development lifecycle.
- Bachelor's degree in analytics, finance, engineering, or other related fields. An advanced degree is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail, adaptability, and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders both inside and outside the organization.
‘Nice to have’ skills and experience:
- Professional experience in product/project management, or as a business analyst preferably in the front/middle office or supporting department (e.g. IT, accounting, operations, etc.).
- Experience using Python to develop automation processes or projects beyond basic standard reporting
