About the Job:

PURPOSE STATEMENT:
The Regional Director of Business Office leads and provides operational directives for all Business Office activities related to the claim’s management and collections of the facility receivables and ensures timely, efficient cash collections to support the overall financial goals of the facility. Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and supervises business office activities including the financial counselling, billing, and collections functions for all service lines.

Roles and Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures the Region’s Business Office Team is resourced and effectively managed. 
  • Monitors and evaluates the Region’s Revenue Cycle Key Indicator goals including Cash Collections, AR Days, Bad Debt and Denials. Ensures Facility productivity is managed and measured for improvement opportunities.
  • Provides Revenue Cycle Vice President with clear feedback and recommendations for improvement. 
  • Maintains effective communication with third party insurance carriers to resolve issues that impede cash flow and detract from patient/member satisfaction.
  • Maintains effective communication with the Group leadership team to ensure that all third-party compliance guidelines are met.
  • Reviews all statistical reports to monitor trends, determine operational deficiencies, and implements corrective action plans as necessary.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry changes and trends.
  • Provides leadership, support and fosters a team environment. Monitors staff time, schedules, and time off requests.
  • Motivates staff in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
  • Completes accounts receivable reviews and assists with patient accounts that are not meeting Revenue Cycle Key Indicator goals including Cash Collections, AR Days, Bad Debt and Denials.
  • Provides training for all business office at the facility and regional level.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required OR equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • Must have at least 5 years’ progressive successful Business Office Management experience in an outpatient healthcare setting or previous Corporate BOD experience required.
  • Experience working with information technology and proficiency with software packages including Excel.
  • Previous experience with multiple healthcare systems highly preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong healthcare Revenue Cycle aptitude and possesses associated technical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

Not applicable.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:

Four or more years proven supervisory/management experience required, preferably in healthcare.
