Purpose
As a Seed Coordinator for Central Valley Ag, you will be responsible for planning, management and execution of the day-to-day seed processes/activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with assigned sales regions to oversee the process of seed shipments, internal seed transfers and seed/hard side/pallet returns.
- Strategizes around seed ship-to locations for the most efficient dispersal of seed orders to customers.
- Works with the Operations Team on the management of seed assets to maximize their benefit. The seed assets would include soybean bulk tanks, seed treaters, bulk tenders, seed boxes (hard sides), warehouses, etc.
- Seed Inventory Oversight
- Manages seed inventory within the allowable guidelines and ensures that accurate orders (correct product, treatment, package type, etc.) are maintained in Connect3, MyMonsanto, etc. in the appropriate timeframes.
- Works with assigned sales regions to assess and manage in-season floor stock of seed to maximize seed sales.
- Seed Process Implementation, Oversight and Improvement
- Works with assigned regions to implement seed policies and procedures. This includes, but not limited to seed billing processes, seed transfers, PO’s/BOL’s, centralized ordering (i.e. Seed Data Entry Specialist), seed/agronomy accounting software, seed order form, LCR tracking, seed programs, etc.
- Works closely with Regional Seed Data Entry Specialist in assigned region to ensure centralized ordering process is operating accurately and efficiently.
- Works with management teams to assess current processes and identifies process improvement opportunities. This includes seeking feedback on processes from assigned regions.
- Provides support to accounting and locations in troubleshooting issues with seed billing, inventory discrepancies, GPOS, etc.
- Identifies and shares “Best Practices” for seed.
- Develops training and reference materials to support understanding of seed processes and procedures.
- Seed Administration Oversight
- Provides seed administration oversight in assigned area by working with the sales locations, AP Seed Specialist and Seed Data Entry Specialist to ensure accurate and timely submission of LCR, replants, GPOS, customer complaints and grower licenses.
- Communicates, strategizes and collaborates with other Seed Coordinators at Central Valley Ag.
- Works with Seed Partners to stay abreast of sales metrics, inventory, programs, deadlines, reports, etc. and effectively communicates them to assigned area and Seed Team.
- Communicates and manages seed related deadlines within assigned regions.
- Manages current equipment contracts with seed partners.
- Works with RSM’s, ROM’s, Location Managers and Director of Seed in determining CapEx needs for seed.
- Works with Seed Partners to research and maximize seed equipment cost-share programs.
- Collaborates with operations managers and respective locations on execution of seed equipment/infrastructure projects.
- Works with RSM’s, ROM’s, locations and Seed Team to develop and execute a soybean bulk strategy.
- Provides input to the Seed Team on sales and marketing tactics and grower programs.
- Seed Treatment Processes
- Works with the Director of Specialty Products and Operations Teams to ensure that seed treatment equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Works with Director of Specialty Products and Operations Teams on development of seed treatment processes and with the inventory/logistics of seed treatments.
- Assists location operations/sales in training on operation of seed treatment equipment/procedure..
- Safety
- Collaborates with the Safety and Operations Teams to ensure that seed equipment and seed related activities meet safety requirements.

- REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Agronomy or Agriculture or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an agronomy sales role required.
- Proven history of delivery of results required.
