SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Education and Training Leader (Manager or Director level DOQ) who will be responsible for evaluating, revamping, and creating scalable training for a variety of physicians including interventional cardiologists, echocardiologists, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. This role also ensures the company’s clinical development team members can effectively train physicians.
The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of clinical practice in the Cath lab/OR, strong instructional design and delivery skills, the medical knowledge needed to build and deliver the training as well as a passion for developing others through feedback, coaching, and assessment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Development & Delivery
- Evaluate, refine, and scale training programs for diverse clinical audiences.
- Develop engaging materials (slide decks, manuals, videos, online modules) that are accurate, user-friendly, and clinically relevant.
- Build train-the-trainer frameworks that allow for consistent, high-quality instruction across internal and external stakeholders.
Hands-On Clinical Training
- Become certified to prep the device for implantation in order to attend cases and gain first-hand knowledge of how the Clinical Development Team works in the field.
- Deliver live, virtual, and hands-on training sessions to ensure technical accuracy, confidence, and readiness to support AltaValve™ TMVR procedures.
- Observe proctors and other specialists in action in order to provide feedback and coaching and assess their competence as both proctors and trainers of site clinical teams.
- Model best practices for clinical collaboration, ensuring strong alignment with the company’s clinical development team and trial protocols.
Assessment, Feedback & Coaching
- Use structured assessments, skills validation, and real-time observation to ensure mastery of both device and procedural knowledge.
- Provide direct feedback and coaching to trainees to close knowledge, skill and performance gaps and reinforce best practices.
- Collect participant and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve training content and delivery.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with R&D, Clinical Development, Therapy Development, and other internal teams to align training content with field realities and emerging clinical data.
- Ensure all training programs comply with regulatory and quality requirements.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of training participation, assessment outcomes, and program effectiveness.
- Provide leadership with regular updates on progress, challenges, and recommendations.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Engineering or related field required (advanced degree preferred).
- Strong background in echo imaging is required.
- Certification in clinical education or training is a plus.
Experience
- 5+ years in clinical education/training within the mitral valve space.
- Hands-on cardiac cath lab/OR experience strongly preferred.
- Experience developing scalable training programs and train-the-trainer models.
- Familiarity with eLearning platforms and digital training tools.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
- Medical knowledge needed to understand patient eligibility criteria for the TMVR procedure, execution of the procedure and associated risks and complications.
- Adept at developing didactic presentations in PowerPoint.
- Skilled communicator with ability to present complex information clearly to diverse clinical audiences.
- Proficiency in MS Office; comfort with video editing and digital content tools a plus.
- Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
- Collaborative mindset with ability to work across teams and disciplines.
- Detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance in all training activities.
