This position supports the Division of Emergency Operations (DEO) within the Office of Readiness and Response (ORR), providing essential operational coordination, analysis, and training support to ensure 24/7 readiness of CDC’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

How a Program Analyst Will Make an Impact

  • Track and analyze incoming call, task, and incident data from EOC systems (ECLA, REPORT mailbox, and related databases) to produce daily and weekly situational reports for leadership.
  • Support incident and steady-state operations by facilitating communication among response sections, documenting actions, and ensuring timely situational updates.
  • Assist with operational briefings, meeting coordination, and data calls, including preparation of slides, reports, and communication products.
  • Develop and maintain staff training and onboarding resources to ensure new and current personnel follow approved EOC protocols. Support refresher and cross-training activities that sustain operational readiness.
  • Conduct periodic quality reviews and performance analyses to evaluate accuracy of call logs, data entries, and documentation in accordance with CDC standards.
  • Collaborate with CDC and GDIT leadership to identify process improvements that enhance EOC efficiency, communication flow, and mission support.
  • Provide flexible coverage across CDC Atlanta campuses and shifts, including occasional evening, weekend, or holiday support during response operations.

  • Experience supporting an Emergency Operations Center (EOC), watch desk, or public-health operations environment (CDC or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operational tasking, data tracking, report generation, and documentation within structured program frameworks.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with EOC systems (ECLA, ERS, or similar databases) preferred.
  • Strong data entry, analysis, and reporting skills with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
