Essner is seeking an energetic and dependable Operations Supervisor to provide Assembly and Special Processing leadership over multiple OEM Programs in a high mix, low volume environment. The ideal team member will have proven experience leading a manufacturing work force, implementing assembly best practices, and scaling utilization in support of the war fighter.

Purpose and Scope:

The Operations Supervisor (Building 3) is responsible for the Assembly, Partmark, ChemFilm and Paint activities within the company and ensuring the Team’s conformance to the company’s quality management system in accordance with customer and company requirements. He or she will plan and direct the daily activities of operators engaged in production work, plus ensure the safety of all associates in the organization by administering the safety standards set forth by the organization.

Qualifications


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Production departments (Assembly, Partmark, ChemFilm, & Paint) in support of Customer, and business needs.
    • Supervise, mentor, coordinate, and take ownership of all Manufacturing activities and processes related to Safety, Quality, Productivity and Customer On-time delivery
    • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
    • Responsible for the execution of daily production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
    • Flex labor as required to achieve business objectives
    • Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching when needed
    • Develops training schedules for new employees, maintains & updates skills matrix and evaluates the performance of associates.
    • Maintain records for employees in the department such as attendance, timekeeping, and performance evaluations
    • Implements continuous improvement activities to reduce scrap and increase productivity.
    • Ensures operation of equipment by adhering to PM and TPM schedules, plus calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment, techniques, and technology.
    • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
    • Audit Support (AS9100, NADCAP, & customers)

 

  • Team with Essner’s Engineering & Quality departments to solve problems, complete RRCCAs, Defective Material Review (DMR), and uphold Essner’s Quality Management System
  • Customer interaction including assistance and product evaluation
  • Ad hoc duties as required to support business objectives and a successful operating Manufacturing Function.

Basic Qualification:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience as an Assembly technician
  • Minimum three (3) years in a supervisory role; one (1) year of which is directly related to a supervisory role in Assembly or Chemical Processing
  • Experience with rivet, nut plate, bushing, and adhesive bonding installation
  • Experience with drilling and reaming soft and hard alloys
  • Experience using different measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, radius gages, etc).
  • ERP/ MRP experience
  • Extensive knowledge in multiple aerospace OEM specifications
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Ability to read and understand precautions, safety, procedures, and other specifications as necessary to perform job function.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or Operations Management
  • Ten (15) years of experience working in Aerospace Fabrication Manufacturing Industry
  • Experience working in the CNC Machining, Forming, Punching, Assembly & Special Process environments
  • Extensive knowledge in multiple aerospace OEM specifications
  • Experience implementing Continuous improvement projects
  • Experience working in a business that holds AS9100, ISO9001, or equivalent Quality certifications
