Jaxon Engineering is looking for an experienced Project Controller to join our project management team.

Jaxon is seeking a Project Controller to support the financial health and performance of programs across the organization. Working closely with Program and Project Managers, this role ensures accurate forecasting, disciplined cost control, and earned value analysis that enable informed decision-making and efficient project execution.
The Project Controller maintains alignment between Jaxon’s internal systems and external client frameworks, ensuring transparent, consistent, and timely financial reporting across the portfolio. By managing the flow of financial data and tracking key performance indicators, this position enhances visibility, supports compliance, and helps leadership optimize resources and mitigate risk.
As a collaborative member of Project Management, the Project Controller works with Finance and project teams to synchronize project budgets, cost schedules, reporting practices, and financial processes with organizational objectives.
Salary: $85k - $115k
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense Top Secret clearance.

Requirements
· Monitor project budgets, schedules, and performance metrics to identify variances and support corrective actions.
· Track project financials and forecasts, ensuring accurate alignment between client systems and internal accounting tools.
· Support the preparation and analysis of monthly status reports (MSRs), portfolio summaries, and cash flow forecasts.
· Assist in developing project spend plans, cost reconciliations, and utilization reports to support leadership decisions.
· Coordinate with Program Managers, Resource Managers, and Finance to align cost, schedule, and resource data.
· Prepare and submit project-related financial documentation, including invoices, procurement requests, and expense reports.
· Collaborate with Procurement and Logistics to ensure non-labor costs and materials are aligned with project budgets and timelines.
· Conduct routine data validation and reconciliation across financial systems to ensure reporting accuracy.
· Support risk identification and mitigation through cost, schedule, and funding analysis.
· Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance project controls, data integrity, and reporting efficiency.
· Maintain proficiency in enterprise project management systems and reporting tools.
Job Qualifications:
· Must possess or be eligible to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance; active Top Secret clearance preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, and 3+ years of experience in project controls, project management, or financial analysis; 5+ years of directly related experience may substitute for a degree.
· Demonstrated experience supporting project planning, cost control, and schedule management within a technical, engineering, or defense program environment.
· Working knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and earned value principles applied to project execution.
· Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Deltek, or similar platforms).
· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present project financial data and performance summaries to management and customers.
· Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) certification preferred.
