Job Summary:
We are seeking a driven and experienced Sales Manager to lead a team of Sales Engineers and Order Fulfillment Specialists. This onsite role, based in Irvine, CA, will oversee sales execution and team performance. For the first two years, the primary focus will be on executing current strategies and reinforcing FUTEK’s proven sales methodology to ensure consistency, performance, and stability. After this phase, the Sales Manager will gain greater strategic influence over sales direction, team development, and customer engagement initiatives.
This position requires strong people management, a value-driven sales approach, and the ability to translate technical concepts into impactful customer solutions. Following training and onboarding, the role will also include domestic and occasional international travel to engage directly with customers, participate in industry trade shows, and support field activities.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead and manage a team of Sales Engineers and Order Fulfillment professionals with an emphasis on coaching, accountability, and performance.
- Drive execution of existing sales strategies during the initial two-year period; transition into a strategic leadership role thereafter.
- Foster a value-oriented sales culture, with a strong focus on solving customer challenges rather than simply selling products.
- Track and analyze sales performance metrics; provide actionable feedback to senior management and cross-functional partners.
- Champion a high standard of customer service by ensuring timely, accurate, and informed communication with prospects and clients.
- Participate in key account discussions, industry events, and long-term growth planning.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to manage teams and build rapport with both engineers and procurement professionals.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; Aerospace, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical disciplines also considered.
- Candidates with a business or sales-focused degree and demonstrated experience in technical industries may also be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sales management, preferably in an engineering-driven or hardware-focused industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and modern sales processes.
- Experience representing companies at industry trade shows or conferences.
- Understanding of value-based selling frameworks and consultative methodologies.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- This position will be required to supervise a team of 10+ direct reports.
Work Environment:
Much of this job is conducted in an office setting while utilizing standard office machinery. However, job requires frequent visits to the Production area where the employee may be frequently exposed to airborne particles, mild fumes and moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the office setting is considered low. The noise level in the Production area is considered moderate.
Physical Demands:
Requires regular, predictable, attendance and punctuality. Requires prolonged periods or sitting, occasional standing, stooping, bending and reaching and repetitive hand movements.
