We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Materials Coordinator to support the Materials Manager in managing inventory and distributing materials across multiple construction sites. Tracking material requests and key-coding each material request for billing. The ideal candidate will ensure that materials are delivered on time and in alignment with project schedules.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support the Material Manager in the warehouse inventory, as needed.
- Track incoming and outgoing inventory being sent to multiple construction sites.
- Support in managing the overall materials strategy for ongoing and upcoming construction projects.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate material forecasting and timely deliveries.
- Support in overseeing the sourcing and purchasing of construction materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Track and analyze material usage, costs, and shortages, and assist in providing regular reports.
- Support the Material Manager by implementing and maintaining inventory control systems and procedures.
- Support the Material Manager with warehouse and logistics teams to streamline material flow between storage and job sites.
- Manage and keep current a list of overflow items left over from completed projects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Warehouse-based with frequent visits to the Main Office.
- Occasional lifting or movement of material samples and construction equipment.
- May require extended hours during peak project phases.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate's degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience) highly desired.
- 5+ years of experience in materials or inventory management, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and tools.
- Proficiency in inventory management and procurement software (e.g., Procore).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license: ability to travel between sites as needed.
