General Accountant

The General Accountant reports to the Chief Financial Officer and handles the management and reporting of financial data. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the day-to-day accounting functions, accruals, financial statement preparation and performing general account function, as required.

The essential functions outlined below are just a few of the keys to a successful role:

• Full cycle Accounts Receivable, including preparation of monthly invoices and maintaining customer and vendor records
• Accounts Payable including purchase orders, work orders, and vendor records maintenance
• Multiple bank reconciliations for depository accounts
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts; review for input accuracy and prepare monthly reports and journal entries, as needed
• General Ledger maintenance
• Administration of quarterly business taxes
• Prepare monthly financial statements
• Maintain required business documents
• Prepare annual 1099’s
• Aid with the annual budget and financial forecasting through audit process.
• Maintain financial document files
• New vendor set-up and maintenance
• Vendor statement reconciliation and discrepancies
• Deposit and Cash Reports
• Prepare and/or review of all expense reports for accuracy and proper expense disclosure

Qualifications

Additional requirements include:

• Five+ years of proven successful experience in construction job costing and accounting environment
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or applicable major highly preferred
• Experience in the real estate and construction industry is required
• Proficient in Excel, Word and accounting software; QuickBooks, Buildertrend, and AppFolio experience a plus
