JOB OVERVIEW:
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading all supply chain processes for assigned product line. Managing inventory levels and our capacity to meet our customer’s needs is critical to this position. In addition, the Supply Chain Manager partners with internal teams to coordinate supply chain efforts in vendor management, capacity and production planning, logistics, and scheduling to help maintain a healthy, growing, and profitable business.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the daily activities of the Supply Chain Planner(s)
- Translate S&OP supply plan into actionable fulfillment plan, both at VDF and outside resource facilities, for both short-term and long-term needs
- Lead discussions with the Scheduling Team to align the schedule according to priorities
- Address escalations in raw material and production issues that might affect orders
- Oversee sales orders reports to drive purchasing and scheduling activity
- Responsible for all inventory management
- Identify variances between planned demand and actual demand; and problem-solve for under- and over-forecasted demand
- Lead the team in evaluating & managing customer contracts, customer service hold orders and floor stock agreements
- Drive conversations with purchasing on raw material bookings
- Balance customer back orders with typical customer demand and projections to ensure the production schedule aligns with current needs
- Lead weekly scheduling meeting with Purchasing and the Scheduling Team
- Work with Logistics and Warehousing to drive efficient product movement from vendor through to customer
JOB EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years minimum of professional supply chain experience involved in production planning, scheduling, and inventory control in a manufacturing environment, multi-facility environment
- 1+ years minimum of experience working in a food/food ingredient manufacturing industry
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Presents a strong professional presence, including excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Possess a leadership style that empowers and motivates others to achieve a common set of goals
- Ability to build and foster teams, gain commitment from others and effectively manage the decision-making process
- Successfully supervise/execute multiple projects simultaneously
- Takes an analytical approach to problem-solving with an emphasis on process improvement
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Word & Excel; ERP experience preferred
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Management, or closely related field or equivalent experience
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Employee will be sitting for a prolonged period of time to complete work tasks on a computer.
- Nearly always work indoors.
- May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment.
- Ability to operate a keyboard at efficient speed and typical business office equipment, including computer hardware.
- Regularly required to talk and/or hear; use hands to operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to attend off-site meetings.
- Expected Pay Range: $95,000/year-$105,000/year, exempt
- Bonus: This role may further qualify for supplemental compensation in the form of bonus and incentive programs, contingent upon achieving pre-established individual and company performance metrics.
