Trystar’s team members are our most important asset, and this position plays a critical role in achieving our strategic objectives.   As part of the logistics team, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all inbound and outbound freight for Trystar. This role will report to the Materials Manager.

In this role you will get to:

 

  • Be a leader in following safe work practices and advocating incident prevention
  • Act as the subject matter expert for your direct area of responsibility helping to problem solve, guide, and organize a group of material handlers within your purview.
  • Regularly collaborate with our various departments in order to help prioritize and meet the needs of all internal and external customers.
  • As a self-starter, ensure timely and accurate material processing according to the needs of your production stakeholders.
  • Help to define, improve, and uphold process standards driving accountability within direct team of material handlers.
  • Understand and execute all types of material transactions using Epicor (ERP) and Elliott (ERP).
  • Read, comprehend, and execute processes and procedures according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) which are necessary to properly operate the equipment and manufacture the product.        
  • Ability to comprehend and act on a production schedule in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Operate various material handling equipment within the plant.
  • Understand the full scope of products and freight classes that ship out of Trystar
  • Develop, improve, and follow packaging specifications for each product
  • Create, improve, and follow standard operating procedures for packing/shipping
  • Accurately produce all necessary domestic and international shipping documents and paperwork
  • Execute rate quotes and the daily shipping schedule to meet all customer needs
  • Collaborate with accounts payable and purchasing to investigate and reconcile three-way-match discrepancies.
  • Understand and verify all the different freight charges (PPD & Allowed, PPD & Charge, 3rd Party Collect, etc.) to ensure proper billing of customers and appropriate billing from vendors
  • Work with production team to prepare products quickly and correctly for shipment as they get finished to help the company maintain its focus on speed while maintaining quality
  • Identify & address problems and solutions; thereby, creating a culture of continuous improvement
  • Organize the shipments according to carrier and assist in loading of trucks
  • Unload incoming deliveries and receive accurately against purchase order and packing slips
  • Deliver incoming raw materials to inspection and material handling functional areas
  • Accurately enter and maintain serial number information for incoming and outgoing items
  • Create and maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments including RMAs to/from customers and non-conforming material to/from suppliers
  • Improve and maintain the cleanliness of the shipping/receiving area
  • Fill in for other roles as required

Job Requirements: 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to operate Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • 2 years of experience in Logistics
  • International shipping experience

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree preferred
  • Strong leadership, team, and people management skills
  • Strong communications skills
  • Analytical and computer skills with experience with Epicor ERP or similar and Office 365
  • Good attention to detail & ability to multitask and set priorities
  • Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and ISO requirements
