Compensation
Compensation includes a base salary of $65,500.00 - $98,300.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Metrologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of measurement instruments and systems used in manufacturing, research, or quality control. Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Metrologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of measurement instruments and systems used in manufacturing, research, or quality control. This role is critical to maintaining compliance with industry standards and delivering high-quality products.
Job and Responsibilities
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot measurement instruments and equipment.
- Develop and implement metrology procedures and protocols.
- Perform dimensional, mechanical, and electrical measurements using advanced test equipment
- Analyze measurement data and prepare detailed reports.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, NIST, and other relevant standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve measurement-related issues.
- Maintain calibration records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 4 years’ experience in a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in a metrology or calibration role.
- Proficiency with measurement tools and software (e.g., GD&T, SPC, INDYSOFT )
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 and other quality standards is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMEL certification (DoD Metrology certification), Engineering, Physics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Working Environment
Variable, consisting of both the office environment and the manufacturing floor. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection and sanitary footwear.
