The Opportunity

As a Strength Instructor at Chelsea Piers Fitness, you’ll coach dynamic, high-intensity classes that empower members to challenge themselves safely and effectively. You’ll have access to top-tier facilities, innovative programming, and a community that celebrates growth, grit, and progress.

Schedule: Part-Time; must have the flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule including weekend, holiday and early morning/midday/late evening weekday availability.

Compensation: $50 - $75 per hour, depending on experience

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead group strength and conditioning classes using free weights, functional equipment, and bodyweight training
  • Create well-structured, progressive programs that focus on form, safety, and measurable improvement
  • Educate members on technique, recovery, and long-term training principles
  • Encourage participation across demographics and ability levels
  • Collaborate with fitness leadership on programming and special events

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • Group Fitness Certification
  • Nationally recognized certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year teaching public classes
  • CPR & AED Certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Reliable with ability to attend all scheduled hours.
  • Must be able to lift 30 to 45 pounds or appropriate weight to lead class
