Description

  

JANSON is seeking an experienced Estimator to support project planning, budgeting, and proposal development across our design, fabrication, and installation workstreams. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with general contractors or construction firms and be highly proficient in RSMeans, using it from day one as the baseline for developing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates. This individual will also coordinate bids from third-party vendors and source firms that align with JANSON's commitment to service excellence and quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop detailed and accurate  project estimates using RSMeans as the foundational tool.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to identify cost drivers and risks.
  • Prepare cost breakdowns for labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment.
  • Coordinate, evaluate, and negotiate bids from third-party vendors and subcontractors.
  • Source vendors that align with JANSON's quality and service standards.
  • Support pre-construction and proposal efforts by providing timely and accurate pricing data.
  • Track and analyze estimate performance vs. actual project costs to improve accuracy.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of estimating  experience in general contracting, construction, or related industries.
  • Advanced proficiency in RSMeans   and the ability to use it independently from day one.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labor costing, and sequencing.
  • Experience coordinating and  managing vendor bids.
  • Excellent analytical,  organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
