Our HR Team is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their team! This is full time position with hours Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. This role is hybrid with a flexible schedule.

 

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Process payroll for all employees, including hourly, salaried, and contract workers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
  • Review and verify timekeeping records for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including changes in pay rates, tax withholdings, benefits, and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, including tax filings, garnishments, and wage reporting.
  • Collaborate with HR to manage employee benefits deductions, direct deposits, and payroll adjustments.
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing data, addressing employee concerns as necessary.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports for management and audits, providing insights into payroll trends and costs.
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation, 1099 filings, and other reporting requirements.

Additional Duties:

  • Support HR and finance teams in audits and inquiries related to payroll.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of payroll processes and systems.
  • Train or assist employees in understanding payroll policies and self-service tools.
  • Stay informed of updates in payroll laws and practices, ensuring the company remains compliant.
  • May be assigned as business needs require.

Competencies:

  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrates precision and accuracy in reviewing payroll data and resolving discrepancies to prevent errors.
  • Time Management: Effectively manages multiple payroll cycles and deadlines without compromising accuracy or quality.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws, including tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and garnishment rules.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Analyzes and resolves payroll issues, such as tax discrepancies, employee payment concerns, and system errors, with efficiency.
  • Data Confidentiality: Upholds strict confidentiality in handling sensitive payroll data and ensures compliance with data protection laws.
  • Communication Skills: Communicates clearly and effectively with employees, HR, and finance teams to explain payroll policies and resolve inquiries.
  • Process Improvement Mindset: Identifies opportunities to streamline payroll processes, reduce manual work, and enhance system efficiency.

Compensation: $22.00-30.00 per hour

 

CCP salary ranges are designed to be competitive with room for professional and financial growth. Individual compensation is based on several factors unique to each candidate, such as work experience, qualifications, and skills. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.
