Job Summary

The Sr Staff Integrity Engineer will be responsible for implementing a corrosion and inspection management strategy to ensure implementation of our Offshore Asset Integrity Management Programs covering risers, piping, and pressure vessels. This role is focused on our operated Gulf of America assets. The selected candidate will have experience in maintaining and creating supporting programs and evaluating inspection data to continuously reduce asset risk, minimize failures, and improve operations for enhanced safety of offshore personnel.

 

Success in this position will require close collaboration with operations, engineering, subsea and construction on the inspection results and condition of our assets. The successful candidate will ensure inspection data is reviewed and actioned on in a timely manner helping to keep our Integrity Data Management Software updated with all actions. Hence, strong organizational and time management skills are required.

 

The Sr Staff Integrity Engineer will be within the Global Engineering Team, specifically Asset Integrity & Reliability and will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remote.

 

Responsibilities

                                                                                                                  

  • Evaluating inspection data, providing recommendations, and ensuring follow-up actions are taken
  • Completion of engineering assessment when required
  • Co-owner of integrity management system databases housing manufacturer data reports, inspection results, due dates, anomaly lists, assessments and repair data
  • Liaise closely with Operations, Facilities Engineering and Construction to coordinate integrity issues in major shutdowns and turn-around activities
  • Conduct anomaly assessment and fitness for service evaluations, when required project manage third party assessments
  • Initiate and participate in integrity related Management of Change projects
  • Coordinate and lead integrity related failure investigations
  • Provide mentorship to other team members
  • Responsible for the monitoring and reporting of KPI's, managing and updating of the anomaly registers, and coordinating anomaly sign-off
  • Liaise with other discipline leads as deemed necessary
  • Assist in preparing integrity statements and strategies
  • Participate in preparation of Capital and Operating budgets and long term planning
  • Manage contractor services in planning, performing and reporting integrity projects
  • Determine suitable and appropriate inspection techniques and frequencies in collaboration with other team members
  • Promote and establish the use of new technologies to improve efficiency of inspections and data review
  • Maintain integrity database - inspection results and anomaly assessment data
  • Participate in technical studies, Process and Instrument diagram reviews, Safety Integrity assessments and HAZOP’s
  • Delivery of project compliance in line with company management practices
  • Collaborate with Joint Industry consortia and partnerships
  • Review integrity chemicals, product selections, and chemical trials with the Process Engineer and Chemical provider as well as evaluate results

 

Qualifications/Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 16 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, with a strong understanding of upstream operations, asset integrity management, and risk-based inspection.
  • Proficiency with integrity management software, data analysis, and a strong understanding of corrosion, inspection technologies, and failure analysis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary for reporting and collaborating with cross-functional teams. 

 

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Active certification in API 510, 570, 653, 580
  • 20 or more years of experience in asset integrity of onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities
  • Ability to occasionally go offshore

 

The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions.  Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs.  The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
