About the Department

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
About the position: This position serves as the Bureau Director of End User Support (EUS) overseeing the Client Service Center, Field Services and the Michigan Enterprise Contact Center (MiECC). Under the leadership of the Director of Center for Shared Solutions, this position determines strategic direction for the development & implementation of customer-focused, shared technology support services for all State Government Executive Branch agencies.
The position establishes program objectives, goals, and priorities providing leadership and oversight for the Bureau’s $40M budget, with a focus on effective and efficient administration on inter-divisional and enterprise-wide customer service and end user support programs in the CSS portfolio. This includes developing budget recommendations, monitoring expenditures, and recommending solutions to budgetary needs as well as
recommendations on policy and future department direction.
This role is responsible for direction and oversight for 850+ staff, including contractors; providing support services for the 55,000-employee state workforce and directly impacts all State Agencies and the services they provide to Michigan’s citizens.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Preferred:
• Executive knowledge of IT, as well as possessing a general and financial management background.
• 5 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience including strategic planning, project portfolio
management, systems lifecycle management, service management, development, and delivery of shared services
• 5 -7 years of leadership experience in managing multiple, large cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing
senior level management and key stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of technology and its application to achieve business objectives.
• Extensive knowledge of business operations, budgeting, business processes, and resources management.
• Highly motivated with ability to drive results.
• Excellent leadership, communications, relationship management and team motivation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative management style.
• Ability to allocate resources, implement management control and evaluation systems, develop and implement creative
innovative solutions to complex problems, and to provide leadership.
• Ability to research and analyze technical information, and develop solutions, comprehensive policies pertaining to
numerous subject matters.
• Ability to think strategically and holistically as well as translate strategy into action.

Position Duties
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Two years of professional, managerial experience.
