Position Overview

The UX Research & Insights Intern will help execute, analyze and report on user-centered research studies, contribute to United’s employee digital products and advocate for user needs. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover insights that inform design and product decisions.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in planning and conducting qualitative and quantitative user research e.g. interviews, usability testing, surveys, product data.
  • Support synthesis of research findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Apply your curiosity, asking the right questions and more to uncover key information.
  • Collaborate with product management, product design, engineering, and stakeholders.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and contribute to research presentations

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Must be a current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Psychology, Design, Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction or related field.
  • Strong interest in UX research and user-centered design
  • Familiarity with research methods and tools e.g. usability testing, surveys, affinity mapping
  • Experience with tools like Figma, UserTesting, Quantum Metric, Google Analytics, or similar is a plus
  • Innovative, forward-thinking
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Autonomous and proactive
  • High standards and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills (interpersonal and written skills)
  • Ability to adapt to fast pace and changes
  • Position is based in Chicago, IL – must be able to relocate for the duration of the internship
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now and in the future
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
