CIM’s credit platform seeks to provide custom financing opportunities for diverse asset types across the capital stack; the platform originates mortgage, mezzanine, B-Note, note-on-note and preferred equity investments for the following loan purposes:
· Traditional Loans: Bridge, value-add, stretch senior
· Construction & Development: Ground-up construction, heavy repositioning, redevelopment
The Associate, Investments role (Credit focus) is an integral part of the CIM team. You’ll work in a supportive, growth-oriented environment and gain valuable exposure to a variety of projects across various asset classes including hotel, multifamily, condominiums, office, retail, industrial, mixed-use, and parking, among others, with a focus on core urban markets. Although focused on credit, you will also gain valuable exposure to CIM’s wide range of asset types and investment platforms active in principal investing in each element of the capital stack. This position will have significant exposure to CIM’s fast-growing, real-asset credit products and will be responsible for the full set of responsibilities necessary to deliver on successful investment outcomes, from investment execution to exit.
This role is based at our corporate headquarters in Los Angeles and supports the Credit Investments team through financial analysis, research, transaction execution, and ongoing management and governance through the lifecycle of an investment.

ABOUT YOU:
Quantitative aptitude, with a preference for fluency in corporate and/or asset finance, excellent modeling skills, and strong attention to detail.
Real Estate Credit investment experience is a plus (but not a requirement).
Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and work effectively with deal team (members often spread across multiple geographies, including but not limited to Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago.)

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
2+ years’ professional experience working with an investment firm, private equity firm, or similar organization, focusing on real estate credit and adjacent sectors, and/or credit investment experience.
Bachelor’s degree.

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. At CIM, base pay is one part of the total compensation package. For this role, bonus compensation may be a significant part of the total compensation. The anticipated base salary for the position in Los Angeles, CA is $175,000.
