Duties and Responsibilities

- **Analyze and evaluate business processes and software applications to identify opportunities for improvement.
- **Act as a liaison between technical teams and functional users, translating high-level business needs into detailed technical requirements.
- **Develop a thorough understanding of business operations to guide the development of new and existing systems and enhancements.
- **Manage all phases of assigned projects, including planning, implementation, system testing, and user training.
- **Create and maintain project timelines and technical plans, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- **Plan and execute user acceptance testing (UAT), including developing test scripts, tracking issues, and verifying and reporting results.
- **Support the development and maintenance of business software and applications, performing tasks related to production support, system upgrades, enhancements, and documentation.
- **Analyze and define system requirements, creating logical workflows, data structures, and interface specifications for new and existing systems and enhancements.
- Provide backup support to help desk staff as needed.
- **Develop, refine, and maintain user guides and training materials.
- **Lead and present training sessions for various user groups to ensure understanding of new and existing systems and processes.
- **Document system features and functionalities to develop materials aligned with business processes.
- **Communicate and collaborate with staff at all levels to determine system information needs, data flows, and definitions.
- **Communicate with supervisor and others as requested, to provide regular updates on project milestones, challenges, and timelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Professional Work Experience
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Business Analytics, Project Management, Management Information Systems, Information & Computer Science, or related field, or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience in business analysis; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
- Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of data analysis, as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
- Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with managing complex data systems.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, SQL databases, GIS Software, and Programming Tools.
- If applicable, for supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations.

- Skilled at eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and managing functional and non-functional requirements.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to understand, collect, and analyze data to identify trends and recommend system improvements.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate with team members and stakeholders effectively to resolve issues.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct training for varying group sizes online and in person.
- Demonstrated proficiency in office software to create documents, presentations, and spreadsheets.
Desirable Qualifications
- Working knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques in managing electronic information and/or research administration.
- Working knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, theories, and systems associated with research administration.
- Working knowledge of administrative policies/procedures of a public/private institution of higher education.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Jira, myGRANT, InfoEd, Cognos, eProtocol, and/or Topaz systems.
- Certifications in Business Analytics that validate analytical, technical, and strategic capabilities.
