- Serve as the primary sales contact for open market territories for all Hachette Book Group imprints and distribution clients, managing relationships with distributors, wholesalers, key retailers
- Managing and mentoring external reps/distributors and an in-house sales associate
- Develop and execute international sales strategies, setting and monitoring sales targets to maximize revenue and market share across open market territories
- Lead and organize title presentations and seasonal sales meetings with international reps and partners, addressing key priorities and responding to inquiries
- Actively participate in go-to-market planning, including seasonal strategy meetings and sales conferences
- Collaborate with internal departments to forecast inventory needs, manage allocations, and ensure timely and efficient stock availability across all territories
- Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth, refine account strategy, and provide actionable insights to leadership
- Prepare regular sales reports, including quarterly and annual analyses, with recommendations for growth opportunities
- Monitor the competitive landscape, including pricing benchmarks and marketshare developments, to inform strategy and maintain a strong market position
- Develop new best in class marketing materials for increased engagement with customers
- Partner with imprint marketing and teams to create and execute bespoke international campaigns and adapt global campaigns for local markets
- Develop targeted promotional initiatives (catalogues, sales kits, POS, digital campaigns) tailored to open market customers
- Collaborate with publicity and digital marketing teams to maximize author visibility and engagement in international markets
- Represent Hachette Book Group internationally at book fairs (e.g., Frankfurt, London, etc) to drive sales opportunities
- Serve as a liaison between our international sales reps publishing teams, delivering market insights and facilitating effective communication
- Drive innovation in sales models: exploring print-on-demand, regional printing, and direct-to-consumer opportunities internationally
- Proven sales leader with a strong background in trade publishing.
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in international sales
- Skilled at managing multiple stakeholders and fostering productive communication across teams.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Flexible and administratively efficient, with the ability to adapt to evolving priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Results-driven, with a proactive approach to achieving goals and taking ownership of responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to produce timely, accurate work with strong follow-up and follow-through.

- Strong analytical skills and experience with forecasting and sales reporting
- Familiarity with Edelweiss, publishing contracts, and international distribution channels a plus
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills
- Ability to travel internationally as required
