As a Crew Member in the Water Resources Operations Division, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving Greensboro’s water distribution and wastewater collection systems. You’ll gain valuable technical experience, operate specialized tools and equipment, and work alongside seasoned professionals who take pride in keeping our city’s infrastructure strong.

The Crew Member position performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Greensboro’s Water Distribution and Collection systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair components of the City’s water and sewer systems
Operate and maintain a variety of construction tools and heavy equipment
Troubleshoot system issues and assist with emergency repairs
Follow all City of Greensboro safety and OSHA regulations, including work zone safety
Perform physical labor such as lifting, stooping, standing, bending, and walking for extended periods
Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions as needed
Maintain a reliable means of contact (home or mobile phone)
Participate in an on-call rotation and be available for overtime when required
Accurately document work performed and communicate effectively in written and verbal form

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- "OR" an equivalency of 3 years of education, and" 3 years of directly related experience in a construction environment
- Valid Class B Driver's License w/ tanker endorsement ("OR " the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date to maintain in position)
- 1+ year of experience with heavy lifting in an outdoor construction and maintenance environment.
