A skilled Account Manager with CRM specialization plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth, enhancing customer retention, and optimizing operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

In the wire & cable electrical manufacturing industry—where product complexity, lead times, and customer specifications are critical—this role ensures seamless communication, data-driven decision-making, and proactive customer engagement. The position provides direct support to assigned Regional Sales Managers and their customer group. They are the main point of contact for these customers and provide administrative and operational support to manage many of the infrastructure requirements of the end-to-end (Quote-2-Cash) sales business process, including, but not limited to, generating new sales or upsell opportunities, interpreting technical requirements, pricing management, quotation and follow-up, issue resolution, training, and project management. Working to understand the needs and challenges of each customer, Account Managers provide the highest level of customer service by utilizing a consultative approach. This approach enables them to build strong relationships at all levels, set priorities to follow through on commitments, and deliver innovative solutions.

This role is based at our corporate office in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, but offers flexibility for remote work depending on candidate qualifications and business needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Technical bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: BS/BA degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the direct customer selling process and techniques, including the ability to close sales.
  • 1+ years of experience utilizing HubSpot, Salesforce, or equivalent CRM with a focus on sales operations in a manufacturing or industrial B2B environment.

 LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

• HubSpot or other CRM certifications (e.g., Sales Software, Marketing Software, CRM Implementation) are highly desirable.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Sales Operations Manager, Account Managers are accountable for managing inside sales responsibilities for key customer accounts that have historically generated significant revenue, have the potential to generate significant revenue, or are strategic in nature.

 Develop penetration strategies for key target and competitive accounts to maintain and grow existing business and capture new business to support a balanced sales funnel.

  • Analyze and prepare bids and requests for quotations using established guidelines and a variety of criteria – inventory availability, market intelligence, competitive position, price validity, logistics and fulfillment – to maximize profitability and add value for the customer.
  • Work with Business Value Manager to understand and manage profitability.
  • Prepare analysis to ensure that quotation proposals reflect the best business judgment to maximize profitability and market share.
  • Manage opportunity funnel and perform follow-up to close opportunities and analyze results to identify trends and determine patterns of win/loss.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, quotes, and follow-ups in HubSpot CRM, including monitoring deal stages, setting tasks, and managing pipelines to ensure timely engagement.
  • Act as a single customer contact for price authorizations, product recommendations, policy application, sample requests, and value-added support.
  • Assist before, during, and after the sale regarding product and technical information, pricing, inventory availability, order tracking, non-conformance, and any customer issues that need to be resolved using all tools available.
  • Monitor and oversee the order fulfillment process; identify gaps in CRM usage and suggest improvements to workflows and automation.
  • Maintain relationships with customers, including providing updates on product availability, current pricing, current lead times, and answering product/technical questions as requested.
  • Build and maintain a knowledge base to become a product expert and be able to present appropriate features/benefits based on customers’ needs.
  • Attend product and sales training meetings as needed.
  • Actively manage Manufacturer’s Reps within assigned account territory with training and ongoing support to maximize their capability.
  • Contribute to the business planning process within the assigned territory.
  • Participate in trade shows, meetings, and customer visits, with assigned Reps or Sales Managers, as requested.
  • Answer all customer inquiries from phone calls and/or e-mails in an accurate and timely manner while maintaining professionalism through all aspects of internal/external communications.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across all functional areas
  • Understands the requirements and challenges of the customer base (Manufacturer’s Reps, utilities, electrical distributors, engineers and end users)
  • Can acquire an understanding of the electrical industry and our product offering


COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

  • ERP software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • HubSpot CRM proficiency, including pipeline management, reporting, and automation
