Primary Responsibilities
The Senior Engagement Manager is a senior leader responsible for driving the success of complex, high-profile client projects within the financial services sector. The Senior Engagement Manager will also serve as the key implementation liaison between sales, account management, engineering, product management, and other stakeholders, ensuring that implementation program objectives are defined and met. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills. This role is ideal for candidates with consulting backgrounds, who excel at managing multifaceted engagements and delivering exceptional client outcomes.
Essential Functions/Job Duties
- Sales Process Engagement: Partner with Sales to shape project strategy from the outset, including the creation of Statements of Work (SOWs), Project Charters, and detailed Project Plans. Serve as a subject matter expert during pre-sales discussions to ensure alignment between client needs and delivery capabilities.
- Project Leadership: Direct and oversee the execution of complex projects, managing all moving parts—including internal teams, third-party vendors, and new development initiatives—to ensure seamless delivery and client success.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain trusted relationships with client stakeholders at all levels, from end users to C-suite executives. Proactively manage expectations and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between Sales, Account Management, Product, Engineering, and other key functions. Ensure all parties are informed, engaged, and working toward shared goals.
- High-Profile Project Assignment: Lead the delivery of our most strategic and complex engagements, ensuring outcomes exceed client expectations and reinforce our reputation for excellence.
- Risk & Escalation Management: Identify potential risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies. Address escalations promptly to maintain project momentum and client confidence.
- Performance Reporting: Utilize advanced tools and dashboards to monitor project health, report progress, and drive accountability across teams and clients.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion process optimization, best practices, and lessons learned. Leverage client feedback and data to drive ongoing improvement in delivery quality and efficiency.
- Travel expectation of >50%.
Skills and Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of program/project management experience, in consulting environments serving financial services clients.
- Proven track record of leading complex, client-facing implementations.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or related field; PMP certification preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Deep understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and resources in fast-paced environments.
- Familiarity with SaaS solutions and third-party integrations is a plus.
Education/Certifications
- BA/BS in business administration, information technology, or related field
- PMP certification – preferred
- SAFe certification – preferred; ability to obtain
