Purpose of Role
Responsible for modeling, transforming, and documenting data to provide meaningful datasets that allow the business to gain insight used in making informed, data-driven leadership decisions.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Designs, develops, and implements enterprise and departmental data models into clean, tested, and reusable datasets, empowering end users and stakeholders to answer critical business questions.
- Transforms, cleans, and aggregates data in a meaningful way ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Works closely with business partners to capture their requirements, translates business needs into technical reporting specifications, and obtains BRD sign offs from business partners.
- Quickly resolves data discrepancies, explains data findings, and garner final approval of the source-to-target mappings.
- Builds and optimizes queries and stored procedures in SQL Server databases.
- Partners with the data engineers to ensure that the data is properly loaded into the data warehouse.
- Coaches and mentors more junior BI Developers in internal policies and practices.
- Maintain a customer-first mentality in collaboration with stakeholders, leaders, and fellow developers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - Experience/Skills/Competencies
- Minimum 7 years of related data warehouse and analysis experience, preferably in a financial technology industry.
- Experience with SQL (T-SQL preferred), dimensional data modeling (Kimball/Inmon/star/snowflake), extract, transfer, load (ETL) development (SSIS preferred), data mart, and data warehouses.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with reporting tools (e.g. Tableau, SSRS, Power BI, etc.).
- Proficient with code versioning tools such as TFS and GIT.
- Experience with programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with SQL.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong mathematical acumen to analyze equations.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer service orientation to draw data insights.
- Meticulous and detail oriented, meeting high expectations for precision and accuracy.
- Must be a problem solver, critical thinker, self-motivated and possess integrity and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently on concurrent tasks and adhere to deadlines.
- Experience working in an Agile environment and easily adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication, and presentation skills to clearly communicate data insights to stakeholders and leadership.
- Coaching, mentorship, and training experience is preferred.
- Organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel.

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is ($95,000 - $115,000) inclusive of all geographical differences in the labor market. The base salary for the position will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s work location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members in determining any final offer.
