Job Summary:

As an Access Team Lead, you will interact directly with the Care Coordinators, Regional Office personnel, potential patients and/or their family members, as well as new and existing referral sources.  The goal of those interactions is to drive admission to all levels of care while upholding both department and Bradford policies and ensuring the best interests of the patient inform all actions. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

    This position has direct oversite of the ACCESS Care Coordinators

Duties/Responsibilities:

    Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality, including a working knowledge of 45 CFR “Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act” and 42 C.F.R. Part 2 “Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patient Records” with respect to patient and potential patient identifying information and health information concerning patients, potential patients, and participants

    Review and sign Care Coordinator’s consults, requesting additional information or clarification where needed and determining suggested level of care

    Assist Care Coordinators in motivating patients and trouble shooting issues as they arise

    Monitor Call Queue and ensure calls are being answered

    Monitor chat groups to ensure all issues and messages are addressed in a timely manner

    Ensure scheduled consults and intakes are completed

    Report daily numbers at appointed times

    Assist in the ongoing monitoring, review and training of Care Coordinators

    Answer calls and complete consults and intakes as needed

    Track all potential patients not admitted to the appropriate level of care and ensuring follow up is completed

    Must exhibit high energy level and convey care and empathy while answering calls and completing consultations

    Possess a working knowledge of appropriate emergency, benevolent and/or self-help referral information

    Complete and follow assigned trainings

    Must be able to motivate potential patient(s) into a decision-making process

    Must possess strong attention to detail

    Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision

    Able to bond in a professional manner with potential patients and families

    Must be able to accurately discuss all services offered

    Ability to identify and escalate priority issues

    Regular attendance

    Must have valid driver’s license and a safe driving record and reliable transportation

    Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

    Must have 1 year of customer service experience is required

    Knowledge of chemical dependency is desired

    Computer data entry skills skill required- type 35 wpm

    Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate a basic understanding of the principles of chemical dependency recovery.

    Flexible with schedule

Education:

    Associates or two years of undergraduate studies or relevant work experience required

    Bachelor’s degree or LPN preferred

    CPR certification is a plus


Physical Requirements:

    Must be able to see 20/40 corrected in each eye and hear clearly (hearing assist devices accepted)

    Must be able to continuously sit for approximately 3 hours per 8-hour shift

    Must be able to see and hear constantly

    Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations

    If recovering, two years of continuous verifiable abstinence
