Office of Children's Services (OCS) is
recruiting for a full-time Administrative Officer 1 located in
Bethel, Alaska.

What You Will Be Doing
Under the general supervision of the regional Protective Services Manager 2, this position will work independently performing professional administrative management for the Western Region of the Office of Children´s Services (OCS). The incumbent maintains responsibility for management and oversight of a complete array of administrative services for the Western Region. This position directs, oversees, and sets policy for all administrative, budget, fiscal, personnel, and safety matters relating to OCS in the Western Region. The incumbent serves as part of the OCS Western Region management team whose goal is to provide protective services for the children of the State of Alaska.

Your first twelve months in the agency are probationary and considered a training period, with formal virtual training and on-the-job training with your supervisor and with other colleagues.

This position is located in our fast-paced Bethel field office, a central location to easily access all of Bethel and offering beautiful views at sunrise and sunset.

- All positions require valid ID and successful completion of a background investigation, including fingerprinting and a criminal records check.
- The successful candidate may be required to attend multiple training courses normally located in Anchorage.

Position Duties
Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in
- Administration and Management: Knowledge of planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production.
- Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving: uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one’s knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary.
- Financial Management: Prepares, justifies, and/or administers the budget for program areas; plans, administers, and monitors expenditures to ensure cost-effective support of programs and policies; assesses financial condition of an organization.
- Oral and Written Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience providing administrative support to a business or organization, business administration, public administration, finance, banking, accounting, industrial relations, marketing, human resource management, logistics and supply chain management, or a similar business field.

Minimum Qualifications
At time of interview applicant is requested to submit:

- A list of three (3) professional* references including daytime telephone numbers and email address; at least two (2) of these must be from a current or former supervisor.
- Professional is defined as a supervisor or an individual who has direct knowledge of your work performance.
