Job Summary
The Fleet Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of fleet maintenance shop, ensuring all branch vehicles and equipment are properly maintained, repaired, and serviced.. The individual must be proficient with mechanical and technical skills, have good problem-solving skills and good communication skills for interacting with team members. This position reports directly to the Fleet Manager and works closely with the Fleet and Facilities Administrator, Branch Manager and Enterprise Procurement Manager.

Duties/ Responsibilities
- Supervise, train and evaluate a team of mechanics, fostering a productive, collaborative work environment.
- Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules for all fleet vehicles and equipment, ensuring timely and effective servicing.
- Oversee all repair work, ensuring that it is completed accurately and efficiently, and address any complex repair issues.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all maintenance and repair work meets company standards and regulatory requirements
- Manage parts and supplies inventory, ensuring that necessary items are stocked and ordered in a timely manner.
- Ensure all services are properly recorded in all Greenery systems.
- Work with Fleet Manager to control costs related to labor, parts and supplies to ensure compliance with annual budget
- Enforce and monitor safety protocols and standards within the shop, ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.
- Provide updates, recommendations, and regular communication to the Fleet Manager
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent desired
- 5+ Years of experience performing service repairs
- 5+ Years of experience as a Small Engine Mechanic or Small Engine Technician
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills a must
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must possess and maintain a current Class C Driver’s License with clean MVR records
- Ability to read and write the English language
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus but not required
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used to maintain and the repair of landscape equipment
Physical Requirements
- Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body
- Be able to reach overhead
- Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time
- Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
- Be able to lift 75 pounds.
- Position may require extended work hours and flexibility in scheduling
- Travel to other locations in and out of state may be required and may include overnight stays
- This work may be performed outside in all sorts of weather conditions (i.e., hot, humid, cold, wet, windy, rain, snow) which means the person will need to be adequately prepared
