About the Department

This position provides overall direction to the Inspections & Investigations Section of the Licensing Division within the Corporations, Securities and Commercial Licensing Bureau. This position is responsible for the oversight of the proper inspection and investigation of violations of the Michigan Unarmed Combat Act, 403 PA of 2004; the Limousine, Taxicab, and Transportation Network Company Act, 345 PA of 2016; Article 18 and Article 18A of the Occupational Code, 299 PA of 1980; the Michigan Professional Employer Organization Regulatory Act, 370 PA of 2010; the Private Security Business and Security Alarm Act 330 PA of 1968; Professional Investigator Licensure Act, 285 PA of 1965; the Cemetery Regulation Act, 251 PA of 1968; Prepaid Funeral and Cemetery Sales Act, 255 PA of 1986; and the Forensic Polygraph Examiners Act, 295 PA of 1972. This position will also oversee the follow-up on complaints of violations and determinations regarding corrective action. In addition, this position responds to inquiries from the public, may deliver presentations to interest groups, and participates in educational and training programs regarding the industry.

Position Duties

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.

Minimum Qualifications

Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
