POSITION SUMMARY:
The CMA/LPN or RN is required to provide professional clinical care. This position requires strong clinical and critical thinking skills. The CMA/LPN or RN must be able to multitask in a fast-paced family practice or specialty office environment. They must also be team players with a positive attitude.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Takes patients vital signs, chief complaints and prepares patient for the Provider examination.
- Provides assistance to the Provider so they can make the best possible use of their time and provide quality care.
- Responsible for preparing each patient appropriately, seeing that exam rooms are adequately prepared, and that clinical information is made available for Provider review.
- Assures the completion of data entry for orders.
- Performs patient education/teaching at Provider’s request.
- Assists Provider with patient phone calls, prescription refills, etc.
- Provides patient care including injections, various treatments, and diagnostic testing (i.e., pulse oximetry, mini mental exams) and documents accordingly.
- Restocks exam rooms and makes lists for ordering clinical supplies.
- Provides accurate documentation in patient EMR and reporting to other agencies (i.e. health department).
- Addresses patient inquiries with tact and courtesy.
- Demonstrates appropriateness in meeting objectives in age-specifics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Current MI state LPN/RN license or Medical Assistant Certification required.
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a CMA/LPN or RN in a healthcare setting, preferably in a rural or outpatient clinic environment.
Ability to deal with patients tactfully and courteously.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Providers, other employees, and patients.
Knowledge of current medical practices and procedures.
Ability to provide quality care and to assist the provider with procedures and exams in the office setting.
Accuracy and dedication to providing high quality patient care.
