Job Description
You will be the Electrical Engineering Manager for Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control. Our directorate drives technical excellence, affordability, and flawless program execution for cutting edge missile and aerospace systems. You will lead a multi functional engineering team, nurture talent, and serve as the technical conscience for high visibility programs.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Electrical Engineering Manager you will be responsible for shaping your team’s success, advancing department initiatives, and delivering affordable, high quality solutions on schedule. You will coach engineers, oversee recruitment and development, and ensure rigorous engineering processes support program goals. Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing continuous technical coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to all team members.
• Assigning work, creating career development plans, and advocating for your engineers in opportunity discussions.
• Coordinating recruitment, onboarding, training, salary planning, and recognition/disciplinary actions to build a diverse, high performing team.
• Defining and tracking engineering competency development and certification pathways.
• Overseeing program development and execution, ensuring adherence to engineering processes, configuration control, and cost down initiatives.
• Promoting a customer focused culture and acting as the technical conscience for every program.
• Delivering technical oversight, guidance, and mentorship for second source development efforts.
• Managing risk and opportunity on Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) Increment 1 efforts, ensuring mission success.
• Communicating technical status, issues, and decisions clearly to program leadership, functional leaders, and external customers.
• Supporting the PrSM Increment 1 Chief Engineer (CE) and Deputy CE with reviews, design authority sign offs, and other CE duties.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
