Director - Blockchain Engineering – FDAM - Asset Management Technology
The Role
An ideal candidate for this role will bring deep domain expertise in blockchain technologies, digital assets and tokenization for Asset Management. The candidate combines technical depth with financial domain expertise and can bridge business strategy, technology delivery, regulatory compliance to define blockchain strategy for asset management products including tokenized funds, smart wallets and on-chain asset servicing. Leads discovery and evaluation of blockchain platforms, smart contract architecture, token standard, decentralized workflows, on/off chain integration and wallet architecture to meet business and enterprise requirements. Mentor teams and build internal capability on blockchain engineering and architecture. The value you deliver will include:

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
12-14 years of software engineering experience; at least 5 years in blockchain development
Proficiency in Web3, smart contract development (Solidity, Rust), deep understanding of blockchain consensus mechanism, token standards, cryptography, transaction lifecycle, layer-2 scaling, custody architecture and use of Oracles and cross-chain communication
Strong understanding of asset management business workflows – fund creation & lifecycle, compliance, transfer agency and back office function.
Design and implement scalable blockchain based system for tokenization, smart wallets and integration with DeFi protocols for primarily public blockchains like Ethereum, Solana and private DLTs
Build on-chain and off-chain component for decentralized applications, interoperability between blockchain components and integration with traditional financial systems
Knowledge of API integration, mircoservices, event driven architecture, cloud-native services (AWS), containerization (Docker, EKS) and DevSecOps pipelines
Work with engineering and product managers, architects, team of blockchain engineers and Fullstack engineers
Promotes and demonstrates a learning mindset by staying abreast of emerging trends in blockchain technology
Strong in communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills with which you influence decisions and engagement across all levels of the organization.
Ability to proactively share your knowledge, expertise, perspectives and nurture a learning culture across your team and the broader organisation
Work closely with globally distributed product, engineering and business teams across regions which may include working across time zones and travel for business workshops, planning sessions and meetings

As a member of the Asset Management technology team, you will be part of the team which supports the Fidelity Asset Management business.

The base salary range for this position is $126,000-255,000 USD per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
