WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Driving in a variety of weather conditions.
- Work is performed outdoors for extended periods of time including up to the entire duration of shift.
- Employees are subject to environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold weather.
- Protection from weather conditions may be provided, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor communication through a variety of platforms such as emails, calls, and voicemails, and communication apps. Respond to communication efficiently.
- Use parking enforcement software to ensure payment validation and plate validation.
- Utilize License Plate Recognition (LPR) system monitor for compliance with parking policy and procedure. Utilize LPR system to enforce time limits within specific posted areas.
- Investigate complaints, assess violations, determine remedial actions, and enforce parking with impartiality, sound judgment, and discretion.
- Treat all equipment with care and as if it were your own
- Issue notices to vehicles not in compliance with parking policy and procedure.
- Perform decal and/or lot audits, stall counts, decals for parkers in arrears as per the monthly parking department.
- Perform vehicle inspections/walk arounds and report any issues to the team lead and management.
- Have all tools necessary to perform duties such as handheld devices, copy of standing orders, keys, access cards, etc.
- Maintain a professional image and the appearance of patrol vehicles as well as the cleanliness and organization of the patrol vehicle.
- Follow all relevant traffic and safety laws
- Maintain operation key log sheet and gas card log sheet.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the patrol office; ensure that the fleet of phones and handhelds for violation notices are charged for daily use.
- Completion of data Entry and related paperwork. Prepare accurate and detailed activity and incident reports.
- Remain calm and professional to deliver exceptional customer service experience, especially in difficult situations with challenging customers.
- Follow up with the team lead and management on any potential issues.
- Other duties that may be assigned by the office.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Prefer high school diploma or equivalent.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and related applications (Word, Excel, One Note, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
- Comfortable with devices running both Android and Apple Operating Systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Email etiquette is a must. Knowledge of the NATO Phonetic Alphabet and calling in requests for tows.
- Active listening skills and the ability to understand and explain technical language.
- Knowledge of geographical area for Edmonton and its surrounding areas such as Sherwood Park, Edmonton Airport, etc.
- Understanding of hazards and ability to follow safe working practices, policies, and procedures.
- Must possess a valid Canadian license
- Have a clean driver abstract (less than 3 demerits), and be able to operate motor vehicles
- Good problem-solving skills, time-management skills, make decisions in the moment, and the ability to work well on their own and/or part of a team.
- Self-starter, dependable, adaptable, patient, diplomatic, tactful and perform with a high level of integrity
- Must be available to work weekdays, evenings, and holidays (based on operational needs); willing and able to work beyond normal working hours on occasions.
