Your Impact:
We are seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to own the full software delivery lifecycle and infrastructure automation. This role combines DevOps practices—planning, coding, building, testing, releasing, deploying, and monitoring—with a strong focus on runtime modernization, CI/CD, and environment reliability.
You’ll help keep our development loop running smoothly while ensuring a stable, secure, and high-performing engineering environment. If you thrive in small, cross-functional teams and enjoy wearing multiple hats, this is the role for you.
Hybrid role: In-Office: Tues - Thurs (WFH: Mon & Fri) - This position is located in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
As a Senior Software Developer, you will:
- Lead runtime upgrades and modernization efforts across environments.
- Build, configure, and operate language runtimes and support infrastructure.
- Automate environment setup and configuration using infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines and enforce quality gates.
- Manage dependency workflows, including private mirrors and patching strategies.
- Coordinate risk-managed rollouts, rollback plans, and integration testing.
- Monitor system performance and define service-level objectives (SLOs).
- Troubleshoot build and deployment issues and collaborate on remediation.
- Document infrastructure, pipelines, and operational procedures.
What you need to Succeed:
- Linux experience
- Proven experience with proactively leading runtime upgrades and managing production deployments.
- Strong background in DevOps practices and automation across environments.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and reproducible build strategies.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex build, deployment, and runtime issues.
- Strong understanding of version control workflows and release management.
- Effective communicator and collaborator in cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
