We are currently seeking a qualified individual for the Risk Program Specialist position, joining our Nottingham, PA team!
- SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday approximately 40+ hours a week

This position organizes, monitors and coordinates the general oversight of and processing of company -wide workers’ compensation and auto liability claims; acts as a liaison with employees, outside administrators, physicians and legal counsel; performs a variety of administrative tasks pertaining to the Workers’ Compensation and auto liability claims program; and assists in the investigation of claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Safety team members to process injury reports, issue First Report of Injury to Third Party Administrators and schedule first appointments with medical providers when needed.
- Collaborate with Safety team to assess injury mechanism and follow -up action.
- Coordinate and maintain subrogation records for subrogation claims.
- Coordinate structured return to work of injured employees and job analysis with safety team, management, legal counsel and third-party administrators. Ensure clarification regarding work restrictions for every worker’s compensation case by consulting with medical treatment providers.
- Educate employees about workers’ compensation procedures and policies.
- Coordinate and administer workers’ compensation program payroll and payments.
- Communicate with employees regarding claim procedures and related laws, completion of proper forms, and status of claims.
- Help third party administrators by obtaining copies of required job descriptions and claimant information.
- Interface and strategize with claim adjusters, defense attorneys, human resources and managers.
- Monitor nurse case management activity, monitor use of defense attorneys and claims adjusters, evaluate settlement authorities and coordinate formal approval by appropriate parties.
- Collaborate on action plans as needed and evaluate claim life exposure.
- Identify opportunities for cost-effective claim mitigation and resolution.
- Oversee claims handling for multi-jurisdictions, ensuring quality assurance through monitoring for compliance with internal standards and conducting strategic reviews to identify trends, set mitigation goals and improve outcomes.
- Evaluate claims trending to determine focus and goals for mitigation.
- Proactively communicate with injured workers, affected workers and necessary parties to ensure timely communication and follow-up.
- Testify at arbitration/appeal hearings on individual cases. Attend liability and workers’ compensation legal depositions as needed.
- Assist in controlling claims costs by utilizing available resources, promptly identifying and arranging specialized services.
- Collaborate with the ATI onsite reps to review current injury status and closures of incidents on a weekly basis.
- Oversee coordination of quarterly claims review meeting with third parties.
- Coordinate and file annual self-insurance state renewal applications and primary contact third parties.
- Manage and facilitate drug screening programs and quarterly department of transportation random drug screening process.
- Collaborate with Accounting/Controller on accruals, reserve and monthly TPA reporting.
- Coordinate with partner resources and claimants to resolve cases in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
- Produces various reports for management such as status of claims, summary reports, accident prevention, loss control, risk management and works with the Safety team to identify trends and reconciliation of findings.
- Demonstrates full compliance and adherence to safety, health and OSHA laws, policies and procedures. Recommends updated policies and procedures to improve safety outcomes.
- Participate in developing department goals and objectives.

- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external customers
- Answers employee questions and addresses employee concerns with supervisor or appropriate manager and/or department.
- Provides back-up support for other positions within department as needed.
- Partners with Safety in completing safety and incident investigations and follow-ups with parties while striving for creative and fair outcomes.
- Works proactively to identify problems and craft creative solutions.
- Spends time walking production, distribution centers and warehouse floors to proactively talk with employees, understand needs and ways to offer support.
- Promotes HR and safety programs and policies to sustain an efficient and respectful workplace.
- Champions a positive organizational culture following the company values by promoting employee engagement and retention strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. HS Diploma or GED required.
- At least 3 years of experience working in HR, Safety, WC role or risk management preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
- MS Office Suite intermediate skill level required. Advanced preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
- Demonstrated experience to work independently or as a team with results driven approach.

- Excellent interpersonal relationship building skills; proven ability to build relationships and influence leaders

- Remains sedentary for moderate to extended periods of time.
- Required to us a computer monitor, keyboard, and mouse for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds on occasion.
- Employees primary office located in Nottingham, PA. Ability to travel to company distribution and plant locations on occasion -5%
