- Supervise, train, and evaluate wait staff/servers to ensure top-quality service.
- Oversee all dining room and buffet service operations, ensuring food is presented professionally and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all dining services policies and protocols.
- Manage wait staff scheduling, attendance, and performance evaluations (with support from the Dining Room Manager).
- Develop and implement in-service and training programs for all dining room staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the dining and buffet areas.
- Monitor equipment and service needs; report inventory requirements to the Assistant Director of Culinary Services.
- Support accounting, reservations, and take-out processes; assist servers as needed.
- Report hazardous conditions or equipment issues to the Culinary Services leadership team.
- Ensure all safety-related incidents are reported and policies are followed.
- Assist with planning and execution of catering and special events.
- Uphold a professional appearance and monitor the hygiene and presentation of all staff.
- Protect resident confidentiality and uphold resident rights at all times.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with residents regarding service and concerns.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage daily operations efficiently.
- Flexible availability and a positive leadership style.
- Ability to engage positively with staff, residents, and guests at all levels.
- Familiarity with HACCP standards and food safety protocols.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to long-term care and senior living.
- Basic nutrition knowledge is a plus.
