SALARY: The salary range for this position is $79,098.16 to $123,272.27 for Schedule A, and $79,098.16 to $117,108.66 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
Position Duties
- Provide Individual Clinical Supervision for Substance Abuse Evaluators. This includes assessment review, time management, case management, tracking of cases, clinical skills, direct observations, 42 CFR compliance and state regulation compliance.
- Act as a liaison between Vicinage and AOC management when there are concerns regarding a SAE.
- Organize and schedule different group supervision sites who each meet for 8 sessions, compiling topics of interest to train all SAE’s statewide.
- Lead, organize and facilitate SAE Workshops (i.e.: selecting topics, calendar, location, speaker, finance paperwork, interfacing with the Board to get certification approval, staying abreast of current research for topics).
- Work with coworkers in the Recovery Court Unit to facilitate the entry of trainings into the Judiciary Learning Management System (JLMS).
- Review Assessment Reports as requested.
- Provide support to vicinage recovery court teams.
- Maintain database of SAE training and continuing education.
- Collaborate with members of the recovery court unit to discuss training needs and resources.
- Support Vicinage Managers and Supervisors in recruitments, hiring of SAEs, and assist with SAE performance issues.
- Complete SAE bi-annual evaluations and interim status updates.
- Serve as Judiciary’s representative to the Division of Consumer Affairs.
- Maintain and update the TASC manual.
- Prepare quarterly statistical reports for the Vicinages outlining total evaluations and re-evaluations done by SAE.
- Prepare and present trainings as needed for various committees and conferences.
- Prepare presentations, reports, tables and charts upon request and submit for review of immediate supervisor or other managers.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and support initiatives to ensure standard operating procedures are consistent with Statutes, Court Rules, Best Practices and Operational Manuals, as appropriate.
- Other duties as required.
Note: Although this position is located in the Office of Probation Services, Administrative Office of the Courts (Trenton, NJ), travel to the other Judiciary locations may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and five years of professional experience, two of which shall be in program development, program coordination, program analysis, program administration and/or administrative research.
*Special Note: Must be qualified to provide clinical supervision to NJ Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CADC) according to the New Jersey Administrative Code 13:34C-6.3. This includes LCADC with a CCS; MD with ASAM certification; APN/Licensed Psychologist/LCSW/LMFT/LPC with a CCS; LCADC dually credentialed with APN/Licensed Psychologist/LCSW/LMFT/LPC who holds the equivalent to a CCS by their other credential respective board, with at least 3 years of experience in alcohol and drug counseling.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
A master’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of experience.
A law degree from an approved American Bar Association law school may be substituted for two years of experience.
Note: A master’s degree or a law degree from an accredited college or university, may be used as a substitution, not both.

Other Qualifications
Physical Ability: For some positions, applicants must have the ability to perform work which requires climbing and prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching to perform the essential duties of the position. For some positions, the selected candidate must be able to frequently lift and carry supplies weighing from 30 to 50 pounds and, occasionally, materials weighing up to 75 pounds, in order to perform essential duties of the position.
Driver's License: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
Special Note: Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting. All data received will be kept in strict confidence except to inform the individual of the findings and what action will be taken as a result of this information.
Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
