Head-Royce School is seeking a part-time Mandarin substitute teacher to join our World Language team beginning February 9, 2026 and running through April 13, 2026. The current teacher who will be going on family leave will be there the week of February 9 - 13 alongside the new hire. This position is teaching three classes and is not eligible for benefits.
Head-Royce seeks teachers who are not only excited by the content they teach, but who are also actively engaged in evolving their classroom pedagogy.

Our faculty create classrooms that encourage students to participate in experiential learning, take risks, view the world through multiple lenses, utilize innovative tools, and demonstrate proficiencies through a range of assessments that include real world problems and performances. We seek applicants who have a strong academic background, experience in culturally responsive teaching, a deep understanding of adolescents, and a genuine fondness for working with students at this specific age level.
Priority consideration will be given to applications received by November 15, 2025.

Salary prorated depending on percentage of full-time employment. Substitute will not be eligible for benefits.
