Under limited supervision, responsible for assisting with managing the day-to-day operations of the referral office. Leads or mentors lower level team members.
Responsibilities
- Triage's patient inquiry and physician referral calls to coordinate intake of new patients.
- Provides educational information in a format that is appropriate for callers not directly involved in the medical field.
- Completes clinical assessment based on a phone interview with patient, family members or patient's physician.
- Obtain patients records and required demographic for input into the pre-registration and new patient systems.
- Comprehends and relays information about pre-clinical and clinical activities.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system while providing excellent service.
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with patients, employees and the public.
- Ability to maintain strictest confidentiality and adherence to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
- Ability to act as a team leader, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows.
EDUCATION:
Associate's Degree degree in health related field is required. Will accept experience in lieu of degree.
