What we are looking for: We are hiring a Posting Prepper for our medical billing team. The Posting Prepper will be responsible for preparing large volumes of payments and other work into manageable portions for all Billing Departments. This is a part-time position working 30 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
- Read and sort Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
- Add, batch, sort all payments that come through the mail for patient purposes
- Process insurance credit cards daily
- Obtain missing information or payments
- Return payments with missing information to patients
- Sort the lockbox into manageable batches, correspondence, and payments
- Deposit and batch all misdirected mail that is delivered to our building
- Balance and report insurance credit cards ran in the applicable software system
- Distribute work from the lockbox(s) to appropriate departments
- Prepare and process insurance credit cards ran in the applicable software system, supporting the implementation of paperless processes

Requirements
- High school diploma required
- One year of experience working with insurances and payment posting in a medical billing office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrated capability in maintaining strict confidentiality with patient information.
- Must be well organized, extremely accurate and have attention to detail.
- Ability and willingness to learn and apply new software and technologies efficiently.
